Previously, certain BitLocker profile settings, such as "force encryption", could interfere with wiping a device reliably. With the improvements, enterprise wipe and enterprise reset now make sure a device is wiped as expected. - Devices running with no user signed in now send app samples back, so the software installed on a PC is reported correctly. Previously app samples were only sent while a user was signed in, which meant changes to the app inventory could be wrong. **Android** - Managing zero-touch Android devices got simpler. You can now go to a separate Google portal to manage zero-touch devices. There, users can create and edit EMM configurations, search devices and manage portal access. The Android [enrolment page](https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Workspace-ONE-UEM/services/Android_Platform/GUID-AndroidEnrollmentEnrollmentConcept.html) has a zero-touch configuration page for linking and managing zero-touch settings. **macOS** - Restoring a macOS 12 device is straightforward. You can now use a simple workflow to hand a used Mac to another user without wiping the whole disk and operating system. Users can run "Erase All Content and Settings" (EACS), just as on iOS, to [remove all user data and user-installed apps from the device](https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Workspace-ONE-UEM/services/macOS_Platform/GUID-macOSDeviceManagement.html#device-details-page-for-macos-devices) without reinstalling the operating system, and restore a macOS Monterey device easily. - Removing an app's system extension profile got easier. You can now remove an app's system extension without a local administrator authenticating. macOS 12 introduces a new key, RemovableSystemExtension, that lets the MDM administrator remove an app's system extensions. **Freestyle** - VMware improved the workflow step messages. For troubleshooting, the workflow detail page and the per-step workflow messages in the device details have been improved. The error messages carry information about the cause and the components involved. VMware Workspace ONE UEM Cloud 2206 has been available to shared SaaS customers since 26 July 2022. The rollout for shared SaaS environments is complete.

What is new?

Console

  • VMware improved device wipe. Previously, certain BitLocker profile settings, such as “force encryption”, could interfere with wiping a device reliably. With the improvements, enterprise wipe and enterprise reset now make sure a device is wiped as expected.
  • Devices running with no user signed in now send app samples back, so the software installed on a PC is reported correctly. Previously app samples were only sent while a user was signed in, which meant changes to the app inventory could be wrong.

Android

  • Managing zero-touch Android devices got simpler. You can now go to a separate Google portal to manage zero-touch devices. There, users can create and edit EMM configurations, search devices and manage portal access. The Android enrolment page has a zero-touch configuration page for linking and managing zero-touch settings.

macOS

  • Restoring a macOS 12 device is straightforward. You can now use a simple workflow to hand a used Mac to another user without wiping the whole disk and operating system. Users can run “Erase All Content and Settings” (EACS), just as on iOS, to remove all user data and user-installed apps from the device without reinstalling the operating system, and restore a macOS Monterey device easily.
  • Removing an app’s system extension profile got easier. You can now remove an app’s system extension without a local administrator authenticating. macOS 12 introduces a new key, RemovableSystemExtension, that lets the MDM administrator remove an app’s system extensions.

Freestyle

  • VMware improved the workflow step messages. For troubleshooting, the workflow detail page and the per-step workflow messages in the device details have been improved. The error messages carry information about the cause and the components involved. Click the hyperlink to see a detailed message model for error messages that exceed the word limit.
