## What we check

Your infrastructure components, regularly, against the vendors' own best practice. The
point is to find and fix problems early rather than discover them at the next outage.

## With what

HPE InfoSight and VMware Skyline. Both collect and analyse usage data automatically and
check it against known problems, weaknesses and security gaps. The advantage over a manual
review is the evidence base: those systems have seen failure patterns across a great many
other installations, where your own experience has seen your own.

## Why this is a service rather than a tool

Because the tools produce findings, not decisions. A list of deviations is only worth
something once somebody assesses it: which of these matter in this estate, which are
deliberate, and which belong in the next maintenance window.

That is the part we take on, and the reason a health check is more than a report.
